Win 7, SQL 2008 R2 to Oracle 10g (remote server) Passing string arguments in theOPENQUERY is possible. The following uses REPLACE (Ora) and RegExp_Replace(Ora)via T-SQL OPENQUERY. Oracle implementation of RegExp does not use \r, \n or \x00. In place of them use CHR(xx)Character setbetween Oracle, Toad 9.6 and T-SQL collided. Backup to Thumb Drive
Although I have not been able to backup directly to a thumb drive using WBADMIN a work around is to backup to an external hard drive then use robocopy to copy the WindowsImageBackup directory created by WBADMIN to the thumb drive. Would be nice if Microsoft would fix this. As the IT tech for a small manufacturing company we need to be able to backup our critical application files (accounting and contact management) on a daily basis for local offsite storage. Scan count definition not completely correct
If you create a table with only identity column as only column( and insert few records) and do select * from the table you would see 1 scan count. This is on contrary from what is definition of scan count 1. Actually one can say that fact it being identity column SQL Server has to traverse once only to get records.
