Add ; GO if using sqlcmd
I used the commands in this post to move system databases and get an old SQL server working again. I couldn't use SSMS to do that, so I used sqlcmd, but the commands didn't seem to work.Then after an hour or more of checking different things I realized that, in sqlcmd, it's important to have a semicolon ; at the end of the command followed by the word GOWithout that, the command is not executed, but sqlcmd does not give any error or warning.

User Login Issue
Looking for help. Installed win2008 DC as second domain controller in a win2003 domain. DCPromo seemed to work okay. Then set up a brand new test user and turned off the w2003 domain controller. The test user showed up when I ran Active Directory Users & Computers on the 2008 DC. Pointed the workstation at primary and secondary DNS. Using fixed ip addresses. Attempted to login as the test user and received error message that a domain controller could not be found even though the w2008
