2012 is a huge performance boost compared to 2008R2.Hyper-V is light years ahead of 2008R2 which can not work an a 8 core processor and is limited to a 2TB HDD.2012 has a 64TB limit and unlimited licenses for VM's the only limitation is the hardware that your server is running.I have installed 6 2008R2 servers at the same time on this could not do that on 2008.VM's speed is like the real standalone Server not like Hyper-v in 2008 every thing is so slow no wonder everyone used VMware instead of H
