Name pipe can be much faster than TCP IP

In my side in local networks I always find that name pipe was really much faster than TCP IP (at least by factor 2 or 3).It's not in agreement with what is explained above. I have no explication, and if someone has, I'm interested in.Perhaps it’s due to the specific use of SQL Server ??A lot of insert and update with often same select queries on a moderate amount of data (2 GB max).But it's a fact noted on a wide range of networks with different sqlserver versions since several years.Robin Carli
