Towards the last part of this particular guide, it helped me realize that you can actually gain access to a locked (bl-protected) removable drive simply by first looking for the certificate thumbprint of its certificate-based DRA using the corresponding manage-bde command-line and then proceeding to use it in the syntax given at the very end.
