Time sync when there is no access to the host machine

In some cases there is no access to the host machine to disable the time sync from the host to the PDC as described.  ie. when you are using VM's at a service provider.In other articles I have read that this is possible from the VM by changing the registry with:reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\VMICTimeProvider /v Enabled /t reg_dword /d 0I would like to get confirmation from Microsoft if this is true or not.
