The Where clause

Although it doesn’t explicitly say it, this means that a “Where” clause is part of the Select that precedes it – a Where clause is not applied to the overall results of the Except, Intersect, or Union.   The Where is applied to the nearest Select BEFORE the Intersect, Except, or Union operators are applied.  At least I think this is correct.  WOULD BE NICE to have some examples that show this... also, some examples that select more than one column (so the samples are not trivial).
